Kelly Barrs, CFPS, CFM, CBO, MCP, started his journey as an electrical helper in 1996. In just 4 years, he would attain his Unrestricted Georgia Electrical Contractor license, earning the title of Master Electrician, and founding Barrs Electric. Soon after, he obtained his Unrestricted Low Voltage license in Georgia.

Barrs Electric affords customers extraordinary value in that Kelly Barrs either directly supervises, or performs all work performed. There is no sitting at a desk and “certifying” work done by unqualified ‘technicians”.

Studying Construction Management at Gwinnett Technical College and Southern Polytechnic University, Kelly found an interest, not just in Electrical code, but also in Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, and later, Fire Sprinkler codes. He began acquiring his Residential, as well as Commercial inspection certifications in Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire, eventually culminating in his earning the National Fire Protection’s pinnacle of certification: Certified Fire Protection Specialist. He also holds the International Code Council’s top certification: Master Code Professional. In addition, he is an ICC Certified Fire Marshal and Building Official.
